78 shower columns from €141.90 to €599.90
The selection brings together 78 shower columns, from the chrome column without mixer with lever diverter, at €141.90, to the brass thermostatic shower column and the gold concealed column, at €599.90. A shower column combines the overhead shower, the shower rail, the handset and, depending on the model, the mixer in a single unit. Ours differ by their mixer (thermostatic, mechanical or none), their installation (wall-mounted or concealed), their functions (rain, massage jets, bath spout) and their finish: black, chrome, white, gold, stainless steel or bronze.
Thermostatic shower columns
Fourteen columns have "thermostatic" or "thermostat" in their name, from €144.90 to €599.90. Their thermostatic mixer holds the chosen temperature throughout the shower. A few pointers:
- Black thermostatic shower system with 27 cm shelf, €144.90: the thermostatic shower at the lowest price.
- Black thermostatic shower system with 30 cm square rain shower head and the round version with handset, €216.90 each.
- Chrome shower system with 33 x 40 cm rain shower head and thermostat, €333.90: a large rectangular rain shower head.
- Thermostatic brass shower system, €599.90, in black.
For a family, the most comfortable option remains a shower column with a thermostatic mixer. The 15 models in this selection are gathered there, from black to chrome, white and gold.
Shower columns with a mechanical mixer
A column with a mechanical mixer is adjusted with a single lever, for flow and temperature. The Square black shower system with mixer and rain shower head starts at €179.90, the Wall-Mounted Shower System with Mixer at €449.90 comes in chrome, black, pink or gold. The full selection, 27 models, can be seen in our shower column with a mixer.
Shower columns without a mixer
They connect to the mixer you already have, and only replace the shower rail, the head and the handset. Seven models here, from €141.90 (lever diverter) to €258.90 (1.20 m height-adjustable rail); sixteen in total in our selection of shower columns without a mixer: you will also find simpler models there, at lower prices.
Hydromassage shower columns
Seven columns have massage jets in their name, from the Wall-mounted waterfall shower system with massage jets and handset at €203.90 to the Premium hydromassage shower panel at €549.90. With the 6-function column with 5 jets and temperature display, at €579.90, they make up our selection of 8 jet hydromassage columns.
Concealed shower columns
Nine columns have a body that is built into the wall: only the front panel and the shower head remain visible. They range from €226.90 (chrome concealed with 30 cm rain shower head and handset) to €599.90 (gold concealed). The Complete Concealed Shower System comes with a 30 or 40 cm rain shower head, in black or chrome. They are gathered on our page concealed shower column.
Shower columns for baths
A bath shower column has a spout that fills the bath in addition to the overhead shower and the handset. The Chrome Bath Shower System starts at €249.90; the Retro brass shower system with bath spout and two handles, from €396.90 to €445.90, comes with brass or porcelain handles. See the 12 models in our bath shower column.
Retro shower columns
Six retro columns, from €255.90 to €445.90, in black, bronze, aged brass or gold, with a round rain shower head and, for some, two old-fashioned handles.
To match the basin or the kitchen to an aged brass column, see the page brass tap.
Black, chrome, white or gold shower column?
- Matt black or black: this is the most common colour, with 30 columns available in black. The 23 black columns are gathered in our selection of black shower columns.
- Chrome: 26 columns, the finish that is easiest to match with the rest of the taps and fittings.
- White: 15 columns come in white, on their own or combined with gold. See our white columns.
- Gold: 11 columns come in gold, including the gold concealed column and the gold hydromassage column with 6 jets. The 9 gold columns are in our selection of gold shower systems.
To match the basin or the sink to a gold column, see the page gold tap.
What is the best shower column?
The one that suits your installation:
- You are keeping your mixer: a shower column without a mixer, from €141.90 here.
- You want a stable temperature: a thermostatic shower column, from €144.90.
- You are redoing the bathroom: a concealed column, whose body is hidden in the wall.
- You have a bath: a bath shower column, with spout.
- You want massage jets: a hydromassage shower column, from €203.90.
Next, look at the size of the overhead shower (round or square, from 20 to 40 cm in the selection), the handset and its spray patterns, whether there is a shelf for bottles (ten models) and the finish. To change only the head or the handset without touching the rail, see our shower heads and handsets.
What is the average price of a shower column?
In the selection, the starting price of most models is between €141.90 and €599.90, and twelve columns are offered at €299.90. A column without a mixer costs less than a column with a mixer, since it has no mixer; concealed and hydromassage columns are the most expensive. For the basin and the bath in the same room, see our bathroom tapware range, in the same finishes.
How do you replace a shower column?
For a wall-mounted column, the replacement is done without opening the wall:
- Turn off the water and drain the pipes by opening the shower.
- Unscrew the old mixer, then remove the shower rail and its bracket.
- Change the seals, screw the new column's mixer onto the water inlets, then fix the rail.
- Turn the water back on and check every connection.
Before drilling, choose the height of the rail and the shower head: our article on what height to fit a shower column gives guidelines depending on the height of the users. A concealed column, on the other hand, involves building work and a plumber.
Frequently asked questions about shower columns
What is the average lifespan of a shower column?
It depends mainly on water hardness and how well it is looked after, more than on price. The rail and head last a long time; it is the mixer cartridge, the seals and the shower hose that need changing first. Regular descaling of the nozzles keeps the flow good.
Thermostatic or mechanical shower column?
The thermostatic mixer holds the chosen temperature, even when someone opens another tap. The mechanical mixer is simpler and cheaper, but the temperature shifts when the flow changes elsewhere in the house.
Do you need a plumber to fit a shower column?
Not for a wall-mounted column that replaces a wall-mounted mixer: a few tools and new seals are enough. For a concealed column, yes, because the wall has to be opened.
