Thermostatic Shower System

Where many black columns play with right angles, this one takes only curves: round tube, arched arm, round rain head and round hand shower. The matt black stays understated, with no industrial effect.

It goes well with a freestanding island bath or a white shower tray, as in the photos, and with black accessories: robe hook, towel rail, shower screen with black profiles.

The supplier states a brass body, and all visible parts have the same black finish, down to the hand shower hose. The tube diameter stays slim; the column does not eat into the wall.

The control is a black horizontal bar, fixed to the wall at the foot of the column, with a lever at each end. The supplier presents it as thermostatic: the set temperature holds during the shower.

The round hand shower, on its slider, goes up or down along the tube. Its face has several nozzle zones.

The rain head is placed at the end of an arched arm that brings it forward above your head; in the photos, it gives a vertical rain. This arm clearly keeps the head away from the wall, as seen in profile.

The package thumbnail shows the tube, the arm, the rain head, the hand shower, the hose, the thermostatic bar and a set of connectors and escutcheons.

The bar connects to the hot and cold water supplies coming out of the wall. A replacement on the same supplies can be done yourself; to create new ones, a plumber.

On matt black, avoid abrasive and acidic products: clean with soapy water and wipe to avoid limescale rings. The black escutcheons then hide the connections against the tiles.
