Thermostatic shower system with extra-large shelf and handset

This model has no large overhead shower head. The photos show two separately fitted parts: below, a horizontal chrome mixer topped with a shelf; higher up, a wall rail on which the handset holder slides, connected to the mixer by its hose.

This separation leaves you free to place the rail slightly away from the mixer, for example to clear an alcove or a window. It is a good choice for a shower where you mostly wash with the handset, or for a bath with a shower wall, when an overhead shower head is not wanted.

The shelf covers the whole top of the mixer: perforated grey in the centre, chrome at the edges, with copper-coloured touches at the ends. You can store shower gel, shampoo and a razor on it without adding a shelf to the wall.

The handset is round, with a large white face pierced by nozzles. An exploded view shows that this face can be removed, which lets you reach the nozzles to clean them. The silver hose is presented as flexible and kink-resistant.

The body is declared as chrome-plated copper by the supplier, and works without electricity.

The installation sheet supplied with the photos gives precise guidelines. The centre distance between the hot and cold supplies must be between 14 and 16 cm: the two eccentric connectors in the package make up this difference. The mixer must be at least 90 cm from the floor and at least 120 cm from the ceiling.

The recommended pressure is at least 0.2 MPa, i.e. 2 bar. The manufacturer also states that the set is not designed for a basin. The rail is screwed to the wall: plan for a drill and plugs suited to your tiles, or a plumber if the supplies need reworking.
