The supplier's drawing shows 15 cm between the two wall connectors of the thermostatic bar. This is the distance most often found on shower water outlets: if your supplies are at this centre distance, the bar screws on directly.

First measure the centre of each water outlet. If you find 15 cm, installation needs no plumbing work; otherwise, a plumber will adjust the outlets.

The body is declared as stainless steel with a black finish. A circled close-up in the photos highlights this wall connection of the bar.

A temperature you set once

A temperature you set once

The thermostatic bar, about 27 cm long, has two square handles. In the close-up, the right-hand one shows its graduations, with a mark at 38°: you choose the temperature, then the bar holds it.

This prevents the scalding shower when another tap is opened in the house, and it is reassuring with young children.

The rectangular handset slides in a slider; a round bracket halfway up fixes the bar to the wall. The black hose leaves under the bar and loops back up to the handset without getting in the way of the handles. You unhook the handset to rinse the walls.

Square rain shower and ceiling height

Square rain shower and ceiling height

At the top, the square rain shower measures 30 cm on the drawing. It is very flat and carried on an arm that brings it forward above your head, for a rain falling at the centre of the tray.

The height of the column adjusts from 92 to 126 cm. Add the height of your water outlets: the total, with the arm, must fit under the ceiling.

For limescale, wipe the nozzles after the shower and rinse the shower head from time to time with vinegar water. Finish with a rinse in clean water.

What makes the difference

A shower that turns scalding when a tap is opened elsewhere.

Our answer

A thermostatic cartridge that corrects the mix continuously.

Buying the mixer, the rail and the shower head separately and hoping they match.

Our answer

A complete set: everything arrives matching, in the same finish, with the fixings included.

Breaking into the tiles to conceal the tap.

Our answer

Surface-mounted installation on the two existing outlets: no chasing, nothing to make good.

A fixed shower head that aims at your head and nothing else.

Our answer

A rain shower head that covers the shoulders, paired with an adjustable handset.

Turning the water off to change outlet, then setting the temperature again every time.

Our answer

A diverter that switches from one outlet to the other without touching the mix.
