A rain you can aim

A rain you can aim

The round 20 cm overhead shower head is not fixed at the end of the arm. The supplier's visual shows that it turns through 360° and tilts about fifteen degrees forward or back. You can thus shift the rain towards the centre of the cubicle, or move it away from a glass screen to limit splashes.

Its nozzles are described as TPR, a soft material. In practice, when limescale forms on them, rubbing the surface with a fingertip is enough to dislodge it, without taking the shower head off. The supplier advertises an even flow; how it feels will depend on your mains pressure.

Turn to switch outlets

Turn to switch outlets

At the foot of the rail, the diverter is operated by turning: one way, the water goes up to the rain shower; the other way, it goes to the round handset. The photos number the two positions, so the action is clear at a glance.

Behind the control, the supplier indicates a ceramic disc cartridge rated for 70,000 operations. The handset sits on a holder that slides along the rail, for showering seated, rinsing a child or keeping the spray at shoulder height. It unhooks with one hand for targeted rinsing.

Installation on an existing mixer

Installation on an existing mixer

With no taps, the column screws onto the outlet of your current mixer. The drawing gives a 1,014 mm rail and a 454 mm arm projection: add the height of the mixer and that of the rail to check the room under the ceiling.

The package, photographed flat, contains everything to assemble it: rail, arm, diverter, shower head, handset, two hoses, holder, fittings, instructions and gloves. Drilling is needed for the rail's fixings. The connector diameter is not given; most mixer outlets are 1/2″ (15x21).
