24 brass taps, from €14.90 to €233.90
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, long used in tapware. On this page, every tap is advertised as brass by its product page. The selection covers three uses: the kitchen, the bathroom and the outdoors, plus a few shower and toilet connectors. As for finish, 13 models come in gold colour, 8 models in chrome, and several in black, grey or red: the brass is then the body of the tap, covered with another shade. As for connections, 13 of the 24 product pages state a 1/2 inch connection and 2 a 3/8 inch connection.

The red brass outdoor tap adds a touch of colour to the garden wall. The outdoor taps whose product page states this metal have their own page: brass garden tap.
To connect two hoses, the Brass double-outlet garden tap with quarter-turn lever (€21.90) and the Antique brass double-outlet garden tap with cross handles (€64.90) offer two water outlets. How to choose your brass tap
- By use: for watering, a single-outlet brass water tap is enough; a double-outlet model lets you connect two garden hoses at once. In the kitchen, choose between a fixed spout, swivel spout, pull-out spray or filter spout.
- By control: a single handle to adjust with one hand, two handles or cross-head handles for an old style, a quarter-turn lever to open and close quickly in the garden.
- By fitting: wall-mounted, like the folding wall-mounted kitchen taps, or on the worktop and the basin.
- By finish: aged, gold or brushed gold brass to show the colour of the brass; chrome, black or matt black for a more discreet brass tap.
Brass or chrome: what is the difference?
Brass is the material of the tap, chrome a finish deposited on the surface. A tap can therefore be brass and chrome-plated, like the Brass Garden Tap or the Brass 3-way toilet tap on this page. When people talk about a brass tap in terms of colour, they mean aged, gold or brushed brass finishes: these are the 13 models offered in gold. If it's the golden shade that matters to you before the material, the gold tap page also includes stainless steel models.
Brass tap FAQ
Does brass stand up to water?
Brass is one of the most widely used materials for taps and water fittings, both indoors and outdoors. For an outdoor tap, the real issue is frost: turn off the supply and drain the tap before winter, or choose a frost-proof model.
What is the best material for taps?
There is no single answer: a tap body is most often made of brass, stainless steel or zinc alloy, and its colour comes from a finish applied on top. On this page, 22 of the 24 listings state a brass body. To compare, the material of each model is shown on its product page.
How do you clean brass taps?
A soft cloth and soapy water are enough for everyday cleaning, followed by drying to avoid limescale marks. Avoid abrasive sponges and harsh products, which mark aged or brushed finishes. Always follow the care instructions in the tap's manual.
For limescale or tarnished brass, our guide how to clean a brass tap explains the right method for each finish, and which products to avoid.
How much does a brass tap cost?
On this page, prices range from €14.90 for a 3-way connector to €233.90 for a two-handle folding wall-mounted kitchen tap. A brass garden tap most often costs €29.90, and 8 of the 9 brass kitchen taps cost between €97.90 and €161.90.
What is the difference between a tap and a mixer tap?
A mixer tap controls flow and temperature with a single handle. A two-handle tap, or pillar tap, keeps hot and cold water separate, like the Antique brass fold-down wall-mounted kitchen tap, two handles. Garden taps, on the other hand, are usually connected to a single cold-water supply. Models with cross-head handles or in aged brass are also in our selection of vintage taps.
