A tee, not a diverter

A tee, not a diverter

This branch tee has neither handle nor knob. Water enters through the hexagonal female nut and leaves through two threaded male ends, one in line, the other at a right angle.

Both outlets are therefore open at the same time. To shut one off without the other, you need a valve on each branch, or an appliance with its own control, such as a trigger handset.

The body has raised markings and shows yellow brass at the bottom of the nut.

Where it fits

Where it fits

In the lifestyle photos, the tee is screwed straight onto a wall isolation valve: it takes the place of a single outlet and gives two, each connected to its own braided hose. It is the simplest way to add an outlet to an existing supply, in a shower, bathroom or utility room.

The stated connection is 1/2″ (15x21). Compare it with your isolation valve before ordering; a reducing bush bridges any difference in size.

As there is nothing to operate, it can stay hidden behind a unit or an access hatch.

Installation and care

Installation and care

Fit it with the water off, using a spanner. Put PTFE tape on both male threads and a flat washer in the female nut before tightening: the washer seals the supply side.

Once the water is back on, watch each connection for a few minutes to make sure none weeps.

The silver finish wipes clean with a damp cloth; a little white vinegar removes limescale marks. With no moving parts, the tee needs no further attention. If a connection beads, a slight extra tightening is usually enough.

What makes the difference

Receiving just the one part, and having to order the rest elsewhere.

Our answer
  • 1 brass T-piece

A zamak body with a simple chrome plating: the finish flakes off and the metal pits underneath.

Our answer

A brass body, the benchmark material for taps: it does not rust and withstands hot water without warping.

+33 7 56 88 18 90 Write to us
Can you choose the outlet with a lever?
No: it is a tee with no control; both outlets are supplied at the same time.
How do I shut off just one outlet?
With a valve on the line concerned, or with the appliance connected at the end if it has its own control.
Which thread?
The stated connector is 1/2″ (15x21).
Do I need PTFE tape?
On male threads, yes: a few turns of PTFE tape. On the nut side, the flat washer makes the seal.
Are taps easy to install yourself?

Most of our models are designed to be easy to fit yourself, with clear instructions and standard tools. For some of the more complex models, it may be advisable to call in a professional.

What should I do if my tap starts to leak?

If your tap starts to leak, first check whether the problem comes from the seals or the cartridge. These parts can wear over time and are easy to replace. If the problem persists, contact our customer service team for help or to claim under the guarantee, if applicable.
