Types of bath tapware
The wall-mounted bath tap

The deck-mounted bath tap
It is fitted on the edge of the bath, drilled with two or more holes: the 2-Hole Bath Tap at €79.90, the Vintage 2-Hole Bath Tap at €130.90, or the 5-hole deck-mounted bath mixer tap with waterfall spout and handset at €234.90.
The bath tap with handset
A mixer with handset fills the bath and can also be used for showering. Ten models have a handset, such as the Wall-mounted bath shower mixer with handset and 20 cm spout (from €168.90 to €169.90), the Brushed stainless steel wall-mounted bath mixer tap with pen handset (€169.90) or the Bath Tap with Shower Head (€281.90). The waterfall tap
Seven models let the water flow in a wide sheet: the Wall-mounted waterfall bath spout, three finishes (from €63.90 to €64.90), the Wall-mounted waterfall bath mixer tap with storage shelf (from €147.90 to €158.90) or the Wall-mounted waterfall bath mixer tap on plate with handset (from €191.90 to €199.90). The freestanding island bath tap

The fountain tap

- For a renovation without building work: a wall-mounted bath tap, which is fitted to the existing inlets.
- For a drilled bath: a 2-hole deck-mounted tap, or the 5-hole mixer with waterfall and handset.
- For an island bath: a freestanding tap, from €149.90 to €439.90.
- For a bath with a handset: a bath shower mixer with handset.

Are bath taps standard?
Wall-mounted taps connect to two wall inlets using eccentric connectors, which make up for a small gap between the pipes: most will therefore fit without any building work. A deck-mounted tap requires the bath to be drilled with the right number of holes. Measure the spacing of your inlets, or the number and spacing of the holes, before ordering. How do you replace your bath tapware?
- Turn off the water and open the tap to drain the pipes.
- Unscrew the handset hose, then the tap nuts from the wall connectors.
- Clean the connectors and change the seals.
- Screw on the new tap, tighten without forcing, turn the water back on and check every connection.

How much does it cost to replace a bath tap?
The tap itself costs from €63.90 to €449.90 in the selection. If you fit a wall-mounted tap yourself, there is nothing else to allow for except seals. A plumber's rate depends on your region and the installation: ask for a quote, especially for a freestanding tap. Who should replace the bath tap?

Tap or mixer for the bath?
A two-handle tap measures out hot and cold water separately. A mixer tap adjusts both with a single lever, and a thermostatic mixer holds the chosen temperature. What are the different types of bath tapware?

Each comes as a two-handle tap or a mixer, with or without handset, and some with a waterfall spout.
How do you replace a bath tap without an access panel?
A wall-mounted tap is changed from the front: it unscrews from its eccentric connectors, with no access needed behind the bath. A deck-mounted tap is fixed from underneath the rim: without an access panel, you need access under the bath, and often a plumber.
