Black dominates (33 models come in it), ahead of chrome (22 models), gold (14 models) and white (12 models), with some brushed stainless steel and grey too. Waterfall tap FAQ
What is a waterfall tap?
It is a tap whose wide, flat spout makes the water leave in a sheet. It comes as a basin mixer tap, a tall countertop basin mixer tap, a wall-mounted model and a bath mixer tap.
What are the disadvantages of a waterfall tap?
The sheet of water splashes if the spout doesn't suit the basin: too high or too close to the edge. The flat spout also shows limescale marks faster than a round one. Compare the spout height with the depth of your basin before buying.
If the sheet of water worries you, compare with our basin and bath mixer taps, including streamlined or compact models.
How do you descale a waterfall tap?
Wipe the spout after use to limit limescale. To descale, the most common method is a cloth soaked in diluted white vinegar, left on for a few minutes, then rinsed with clean water. On black, gold or brushed finishes, check the care instructions in the manual first.
Is a waterfall tap harder to clean?
Not really, but it needs a regular wipe: the flat surface of the spout shows more. A soft, dry cloth after use is usually enough.
