Choosing well: Bath mixer tap

Choosing well: Bath mixer tap

A waterfall tap gives a flat, wide, highly visible sheet of water. It is an aesthetic choice with a technical trade-off: it needs a good flow for the sheet to stay continuous. Below 2 bar, the effect breaks up.

The other models are gathered in our Bath tap.

Bath mixer tap: the flow a waterfall spout requires

Bath mixer tap: the flow a waterfall spout requires

Between two models, the width of the spout blade and the finish of the spout decide it — it is the part you look at all the time.

  • 304 stainless steel body
  • Flat, wide sheet of water, always visible
  • Needs enough pressure to stay continuous
  • Ceramic cartridge, for drip-free operation
  • Outlet easy to wipe, to keep the sheet of water even

An aerator like Brass water-saving tap aerator fits by hand and reduces the flow without you feeling it.

Caring for it without scratching the finish

Caring for it without scratching the finish

Clean the outlet regularly: limescale settles there in a line and the sheet of water becomes uneven. A microfibre cloth and diluted vinegar are enough, never abrasive powder.

In the kitchen, the aerator decides everyday comfort. Unscrewed and left for an hour in warm white vinegar each quarter, it regains its flow without anything else needing to be taken apart.

The rest of the selection can be seen in our Bathroom Tap.

What makes the difference

Leaving shampoo and shower gel on the ledge, where they eventually fall off.

Our answer

An integrated shelf: bottles have their place, at hand height.

A thin stream that drums noisily on a flat basin.

Our answer

A waterfall spout: the water flows in a smooth sheet, quieter and with less splashing.

Waiting twenty minutes for the bath to fill.

Our answer

A generous flow: filling is no longer the longest part of the bath.

Turning the water off to switch from spout to handset, then setting the temperature again.

Our answer

A diverter that switches without losing the mix you have already set.

A handset with a hose too short to rinse the bottom of the bowl.

Our answer

A hose that reaches both ends of the bath.

How do I clean it without damaging it?
A soft cloth and soapy water. Avoid any acidic or chlorine-based product: that is what dulls a matt black coating.
What type of installation does it need?
It is wall-mounted: the tap comes out of the wall, on the existing supplies.
What is the body made of?
304 stainless steel — the grade that resists corrosion, the same as sinks themselves.
What comes with the tap?
The box contains: 1 tap; 2 connecting hoses, hot water and cold water; 1 under-basin fixing system — threaded rod and nut; the necessary seals.
Are taps easy to install yourself?

Most of our models are designed to be easy to fit yourself, with clear instructions and standard tools. For some of the more complex models, it may be advisable to call in a professional.

What should I do if my tap starts to leak?

If your tap starts to leak, first check whether the problem comes from the seals or the cartridge. These parts can wear over time and are easy to replace. If the problem persists, contact our customer service team for help or to claim under the guarantee, if applicable.
