The two-handle tap, with two handles or two cross handles (also called a mixer tap in the older sense), has one control for hot water and one for cold: a more classic style, found on retro models. Fitting a tap on a sink
Turn off the water under the sink and release the pressure by opening the old tap. Unscrew the hoses, then the fixing nut. Slide the new tap and its seal into the sink hole, tighten the nut from underneath, connect the hot and cold water hoses, then turn the water back on gently to check for leaks. Are kitchen taps standard?
Largely: most sink mixers fit a standard hole and connect with hoses.
