Between two models, the ceramic cartridge, the finish and the fixing method decide it — a quality cartridge means ten years without a drip.

It fits on the existing sink: turn off the supplies, remove the old tap, pass the hoses through and tighten from below. Have a basin wrench to hand, as the space under a sink is always tighter than it looks.

In the kitchen, the aerator decides everyday comfort. Unscrewed and left for an hour in warm white vinegar each quarter, it regains its flow without anything else needing to be taken apart.
