What is the disadvantage of stainless steel?
It shows limescale water marks and fingerprints, especially in a polished finish. A wipe after use and cleaning with soapy water are enough; avoid steel wool and chlorine-based products, which dull the surface.
How can you tell if a stainless steel tap is good quality?
Look at the steel grade stated on the data sheet. 304 stainless steel is the most common grade in taps and resists corrosion better than 201: on this page, it is the grade of the great majority of models whose data sheet states the grade, with only one stated as 201.
