How to choose your bathroom tap: a complete guide
105 bathroom taps, from €26.90 to €234.90
The selection brings together taps for the basin, the countertop basin, the bath and the shower: single-lever mixer taps, two-handle taps, tall models for countertop basins, wall-mounted taps, waterfall spouts and retro taps. The entry-level price is the Cold-water basin tap with curved spout, black or chrome, from €26.90. The most complete is the 5-hole deck-mounted bath mixer tap with waterfall spout and handset, at €234.90. More than half of the models (55 out of 105) start at €89.90 or less. As for the water inlet, the technical sheet gives a 1/2-inch connection for 60 of these 105 models and 3/8-inch for 12; for the others, the sheet does not specify.
The most common finishes are black and chrome, followed by gold. You will also find white, anthracite grey, brushed stainless steel and bronze, so you can match your bathroom tap to the rest of the room: cabinet handles, towel rail, shower head or waste. If gold is the finish that guides your choice, our gold taps are also presented together, for the countertop basin and the washbasin as well as the sink. The black models have their own page too, black bathroom tap, just like those in a gold finish: gold bathroom tap.
To go further by use, each family also has its own page: basin tap, Bath tap, Shower Tap and the selection bathroom mixer tap.
The basin tap: mixer, two-handle or cold-water
The washbasin makes up the largest part of the range. Three types of tap can be fitted to it.
- The single-hole mixer tap: one lever controls both flow and temperature. This is the most common model. The Minimalist matt black basin mixer tap with hoses included (€38.90) and the Classic Chrome Bathroom Mixer Tap (€59.90) are the simplest versions.
- The two-handle mixer: one handle for hot water, one for cold. The black three-hole two-handle basin tap with waterfall spout (€85.90) and the brushed nickel three-hole two-handle basin tap (€107.90) are fitted to a basin with three tap holes.
- The cold-water tap: for a cloakroom basin or a toilet, the cold-water basin tap with curved spout, black or chrome, costs €26.90 or €39.90 depending on the finish.
Among classic chrome basin mixer taps, the Pure Chrome Basin Mixer Tap (€69.90, brass according to its sheet), the Venus Basin Mixer Tap (€69.90, chrome or white), the Précision Bathroom Mixer Tap, in chrome or black (€89.90), and the Onyx Chrome Bathroom Mixer Tap (€99.90) cover the mid-range. The Élégance Chrome Bathroom Mixer Tap (€149.90) is in chrome-plated brass.
All our basin mixer taps are also gathered on a dedicated page.
Tall taps for countertop basins
A basin sitting on the vanity top needs a taller spout than a built-in basin, otherwise the water falls on the rim. The tall mixer taps in the selection:
- 30 cm tall waterfall basin mixer tap, black or chrome: €63.90 to €79.90.
- 30 cm tall waterfall basin mixer tap, gold, black or two-tone: €72.90.
- Arctic Tall Basin Mixer Tap, in chrome, black, metal grey or brushed gold: €89.90 to €99.90.
- 32 cm tall black waterfall basin mixer tap: €97.90.
- Tall gold waterfall basin mixer tap with chalice spout: €113.90.
- Halo Basin Mixer Tap, in chrome, gold or black: €164.90.
- Tall basin mixer tap with slim 360° swivel spout, grey or brushed stainless steel: €183.90 to €203.90.
The square waterfall basin mixer tap with curved spout comes in a low version (€39.90 in black) and a tall version, in black, silver or gold, up to €68.90. For a countertop basin, also take a look at the Artist Basin Mixer Tap (€134.90, chrome or black) and the Cuido Basin Mixer Tap (€79.90).
For a tall bathroom mixer tap, the best approach is to measure the height of the basin above the worktop, then compare it with the spout height given on the product sheet.
The waterfall tap: the most common shape
A waterfall tap lets the water flow in a wide, flat sheet instead of a round jet. It is the shape that appears most often in the selection, from entry-level models to models with a display.
- Square waterfall basin mixer tap, black, black and gold or white and gold: €43.90 to €58.90.
- Elegant Waterfall Countertop Basin Mixer Tap, chrome or black: €59.90.

Three models display the water temperature: the black square waterfall basin mixer tap with temperature display (€118.90), the LED waterfall basin mixer tap that changes colour with the temperature (€132.90) and the waterfall basin mixer tap with digital temperature display (€189.90 to €195.90). Models with a waterfall spout for the basin, the countertop basin and the bath are also gathered on a separate page: the waterfall taps range.
Pull-out spout and basin hand spray

- Basin mixer tap with rotating head and 4 spray modes: €124.90.
- Green and chrome basin mixer tap with pull-out spout: €141.90.
Wall-mounted bathroom tap
A wall-mounted tap comes out of the wall above the basin or countertop basin: the vanity top stays clear, the area around the basin is easier to clean, and the whole look is clean and modern. The tap body is recessed into the partition wall, which has to be planned at the time of the works, before the tiles are laid.
- Black wall-mounted basin mixer tap with slim recessed spout: €84.90.
- Antique-style 3-way wall-mounted basin tap, brushed gold or black: €89.90.
- Black retro wall-mounted basin tap with cross handles: €131.90.
- Black wall-mounted waterfall mixer tap for countertop basin: €134.90.
- Wall-mounted waterfall basin tap, black or chrome: €149.90.
- Chrome wall-mounted waterfall mixer tap for countertop basin and bath: €154.90.
Before buying a wall-mounted bathroom tap, check the distance between the water inlets in the wall and the spout length in relation to the depth of the basin. The models that come out of the wall, for the countertop basin, the bath and the shower, are gathered under wall-mounted bathroom tap.
Bath tap and bath shower mixer
For the bath, the selection includes wall-mounted taps, deck-mounted models and waterfall spouts. Several come with a handheld shower.

A bath shower mixer sends water either through the spout or through the handset: you switch from one to the other with the diverter. All our models of bath mixer tap are also gathered separately.
The shower tap
For the shower, the selection includes the Retro Style Shower Tap (€54.90, chrome) and the Thermostatic Design Tap (€119.90, black or chrome). For a complete shower with a rail and shower head, take a look at our shower columns ; for a control on its own, our shower mixers.

For a designer bathroom tap, several models rely on a shape that stands out:

Design is not just about shape: a matt black, brushed gold or matt white finish changes the look of a simple model. The Aqua Bathroom Mixer Tap (€114.90) comes in four finishes, from black to white by way of gold.
Which tap should you choose for your bathroom?
The choice comes down to four questions, in this order.
- Where will it be fitted? Basin, countertop basin, bath or shower. This determines the spout height and the type of tap.
- How many holes? One hole for a single-hole mixer tap, three holes for a two-handle mixer, none for a wall-mounted tap.
- One control or two? A mixer tap is adjusted with one hand; a two-handle mixer means adjusting two handles but keeps a more traditional style.
- Which finish? Chrome, black, gold, white or bronze: the simplest approach is to match the finish of the tap to that of the shower and accessories. In a modern bathroom, matt black and chrome dominate; in a period-style bathroom, bronze and aged brass.
On a tight budget, the Minimalist matt black basin mixer tap with hoses included (€38.90) or the 360° swivel chrome basin mixer tap with hoses included (€49.90 on its own, €59.90 with two 60 or 80 cm hoses) are enough for a standard basin. The widest choice is then between €59.90 and €99.90: 55 of the 105 models start in this range.
Frequently asked questions about bathroom taps
What is the best tap for a bathroom?
There is no single best model for every bathroom: the right tap is the one that suits the fixture (basin, countertop basin, bath, shower), the number of holes already drilled and the comfort you are after. For everyday use, a mixer tap remains the most practical, as a single movement controls both flow and temperature. For a countertop basin, choose a tall model; for a clear vanity top, a wall-mounted tap.
How long does a mixer tap last?
It depends mainly on water quality, limescale and maintenance. We have detailed the signs of wear and what extends the life of a mixer tap in our article on how long a mixer tap lasts.
How do you replace a bathroom basin tap?
Turn off the water supply under the basin, open the tap to release the pressure, then unscrew the hoses from the isolation valves. Loosen the fixing nut under the basin and remove the old tap. The new one is fitted in reverse order: seal, fixing rod, nut, then connection of the hoses. Turn the water back on slowly and check that there are no drips at the connections.
Can you replace a tap yourself?
Yes, for a single-hole basin tap replacing a model of the same type: this is a common job. A wall-mounted tap, recessed into the partition wall, or a change of installation type involves more work and often a plumber.
Can you tighten a mixer tap's hoses by hand?
The end of the hose that screws into the mixer tap body is tightened by hand. The connection on the isolation valve is tightened by hand first, then with a spanner, without forcing it, so as not to crush the seal.
How much does a plumber charge to replace a tap?
It varies depending on the region, the call-out and the difficulty of the job: a like-for-like replacement on a basin is simpler than a recessed wall-mounted tap. Ask for a quote before the work starts.
What are the different types of bathroom taps?
There are three: the mixer tap, which controls flow and temperature with a single lever; the two-handle mixer, with one handle for hot water and one for cold; and the cold-water-only tap, for a cloakroom basin. Each comes in versions for the basin, the countertop basin, the bath or the shower, deck-mounted or wall-mounted.
Looking after a bathroom tap
Looking after a bathroom tap is simple. A soft cloth, lukewarm water and a little soap are enough for chrome, matt black and gold finishes. Avoid abrasive sponges and harsh products, which mark the finishes. In a hard-water area, clean the aerator at the end of the spout from time to time: it is the first part to get clogged and reduce the flow. If the tap keeps running once it is turned off, our guide to a dripping bathroom tap will help you find where the leak is coming from.
