An aged gold, made for retro

An aged gold, made for retro

The option is called “Gold”, but the photos show an aged gold, close to bronze: the coils are gold on top and dark in the hollows, like metal patinated by the years. They are wide and well spaced, more pronounced than on a modern hose.

It's the hose to pair with a cross-handle mixer, a freestanding bath or a retro bronze shower column. Next to a bright, new gold, though, the difference in tint will show. The photos show it coiled and in close-up on its ends.

Five lengths, from 60 cm to 1.50 m

Five lengths, from 60 cm to 1.50 m

The length is chosen according to the location. The 60 and 80 cm are for a short connection, between a mixer and a handset resting just above. The 1 m and 1.20 m suit a bath where the handset rests on the mixer's holder.

1.50 m is the classic length for a wall-mounted shower, when the handset is hung high. The price follows the length, from €15.90 to €19.90. Measure before choosing: a hose that is too long trails on the tray, one too short pulls on the handset.

Old-style hexagonal ends

Old-style hexagonal ends

At the ends, the photos show hex nuts in the same bronze tint, with the internal thread visible. They are easy to grip by hand and finished with a spanner, protecting the finish with a cloth.

The supplier does not specify the diameter; check your installation, 1/2″ (15x21) being the most common. Place a flat seal in each nut before screwing on.

The patina is part of the style: clean with a soft cloth and water, without copper cleaner or abrasives, which would strip the aged tint.

What makes the difference

Receiving just the one part, and having to order the rest elsewhere.

Our answer
  • 1 retro shower hose (length depending on the option)

A zamak body with a simple chrome plating: the finish flakes off and the metal pits underneath.

Our answer

A stainless steel body: immune to corrosion, it keeps its look despite constant contact with water.

Is the "Gold" option shiny gold?
No, the photos show an aged gold, a patinated bronze colour.
Which length should I choose?
1.5 m for a wall-mounted handset, 1 m or 1.2 m on a bath, 60 or 80 cm for a short connection.
Do I need a special product?
No: water and a soft cloth. Avoid copper cleaners, which would remove the patina.
Are the washers included?
The supplier does not say; allow for two flat washers if yours are worn.
Are taps easy to install yourself?

Most of our models are designed to be easy to fit yourself, with clear instructions and standard tools. For some of the more complex models, it may be advisable to call in a professional.

What should I do if my tap starts to leak?

If your tap starts to leak, first check whether the problem comes from the seals or the cartridge. These parts can wear over time and are easy to replace. If the problem persists, contact our customer service team for help or to claim under the guarantee, if applicable.
