Choosing well: Kitchen Tap

Choosing well: Kitchen Tap

A hose is chosen on its length and connectors. Threads are standardised — 15/21, i.e. half an inch — so almost every model fits almost every shower. The length depends on the height of the rail: 1.50 m for a standard shower, 1.75 m if the rail is high or the bath deep.

Kitchen Tap: standard length and connectors

Between two hoses, the anti-twist protection and the sheath material decide it: a hose that twists kinks and ends up leaking at the connector.

  • Stainless steel body
  • Standard 15/21 thread, compatible with almost all showers
  • Anti-twist sheath, so it does not kink in use
  • Washers supplied, replacement by hand without tools
  • Length suited to common shower rails

As for the shower head, Pen-style handheld shower with wall holder, three finishes screws onto the standard connector.

Replacing it without tools

Replacing it without tools

It is replaced by hand, without tools: unscrew, check that the washer is properly in place, screw back. It is the cheapest part to change and the first to leak.

On a shower installation, maintenance comes down to limescale. A descaled hose and clear nozzles restore the original pressure — this is almost always where the impression of a weakening shower comes from.

In the same spirit, Square black shower system with mixer and rain shower head completes the installation.

What makes the difference

A rigid spout you have to work around to fill a bucket.

Our answer

A flexible neck that holds whatever position you give it.

A single lever you never quite get right.

Our answer

Two separate handles: hot and cold are set independently, right down to the degree.

A zamak body with a simple chrome coating: the plating flakes and the metal pits underneath.

Our answer

A solid body, heavy in the hand — that weight is what sets durable tapware apart from a hollow tube.

A rubber washer that flattens and leaves the tap dripping after two years.

Our answer

A ceramic cartridge: two polished discs that shut off the water by contact, with no soft wearing parts.

Having to tip a saucepan on its side to fill it under the spout.

Our answer

A generous clearance designed for a large container, not just a mug.

How do I clean it without damaging it?
A soft cloth and soapy water, then a wipe: it is the water drying on the surface that leaves the white marks, not the limescale from the tap.
What is the body made of?
Stainless steel — immune to corrosion, it keeps its look in constant contact with water.
Do I need to drill the worktop?
No, if your sink already has the standard tap hole — which is the case for nearly all sinks. The tap uses that hole and is tightened from underneath.
Can I send it back?
You have 30 days to send it back, no need to give a reason.
Are taps easy to install yourself?

Most of our models are designed to be easy to fit yourself, with clear instructions and standard tools. For some of the more complex models, it may be advisable to call in a professional.

What should I do if my tap starts to leak?

If your tap starts to leak, first check whether the problem comes from the seals or the cartridge. These parts can wear over time and are easy to replace. If the problem persists, contact our customer service team for help or to claim under the guarantee, if applicable.
