A grey between chrome and black

In the photos, the spiral is a dark grey with metallic highlights, close to burnished steel. It answers grey "gunmetal" taps, increasingly common, but also brushed stainless steel or concrete-effect tiles.

Where chrome shines and black cuts across, this grey stays discreet: it does not bounce the light back like a mirror and does not draw a dark line on a pale wall. The end fittings are in the same tone, with no silver ring. It also suits anyone who wants to move away from chrome without going black.

Tight rings around the tube

The hose is made of a spiral of close-set rings, which the supplier's image presents as a reinforced coating, designed against wear at high temperature and against leaks.

In use, this spiral lets the handset turn on itself without the hose twisting, and protects the inner tube when the hose rubs against the edge of the shower tray. The dark tint also hides small water marks better than polished chrome: a wipe with a cloth once a week keeps its sheen. The same care applies to the end fittings.

Measurements and fitting

The hose is 1.50 m long. The photos show a hex nut at one end, easy to grip between the fingers, and a conical end at the other, which sits under the handset grip.

The nut diameter is not stated; 1/2″ (15x21) is the French standard for mixers and handsets. For fitting: turn off the water, unscrew the old hose, insert a flat washer in each nut and tighten by hand, then turn the water back on to check both connections. No drilling is needed.
