PVC Shower Hose - Chrome

The last photo cuts the hose in two. You can see three layers: the outer silver PVC sheath, a white inner tube, and between the two a braided mesh that holds the tube when the pressure rises. It is this reinforcement that sets this model apart from a simple plastic pipe.

The supplier states smooth PVC: there is no metal spiral around it. The hose is therefore lighter than an all-metal model and does not pinch your fingers when folded. It remains flexible all the same: the braid bends with it, without cracking.

The PVC is tinted shiny silver, in a tone that matches chrome taps. The chrome-plated metal end fittings pick up the same sheen at both ends.

A photo shows it standing in an arc, both ends in the air: it curves smoothly, with no kink or twist. In the shower, it follows the handset as you pass it from one hand to the other and does not bang against the screen like a metal spiral.

Its smooth surface rinses off with a jet and wipes clean in one go, with no grooves where soap stays behind.

The hose is 1.50 m long, the length that suits a handset on a wall bracket or sliding rail. It screws on at one end to the mixer outlet and at the other under the handset grip, with a flat washer in each nut.

The supplier says it is compatible with most shower systems, without stating the thread: the bathroom standard is 1/2″ (15x21). Compare with your current hose. The replacement needs no plumber: water off, old hose unscrewed, new one tightened by hand.
