A tube-shaped handset

A tube-shaped handset

No disc here: the shower head is a metal cylinder, cut square at both ends. The water comes out of a grey rectangular window on one side, near the top. You hold it like a torch and direct the spray effortlessly.

This slim format is popular in walk-in showers and small shower rooms, where it disappears on its holder. It is also good for rinsing a child or a pet, as the spray goes exactly where you point it.

The photos show only one type of spray: no ring, no selector.

A brushed finish rather than a mirror one

A brushed finish rather than a mirror one

Despite the word “chrome” in the title, the surface seen in the photos is satin, a brushed metal grey close to stainless steel. The supplier does state a stainless steel body.

This matt look holds fewer droplets and fingerprints than glossy chrome, and goes with stainless steel or brushed nickel taps and fittings.

In close-up, the nubs stand out from the grey plate like small soft pads: a press of the finger is enough to free them when limescale builds up. The join between plate and tube is clean, with no lip where water collects, which makes daily rinsing easier.

Installation and everyday use

Installation and everyday use

The bottom of the tube has a 1/2″ thread, the size of shower hoses (15x21). Screw it by hand onto the hose nut, flat washer in place, no spanner needed.

The lifestyle views show the rod resting in a forked wall holder; the holder and hose are not mentioned in the offer, so check that yours accepts a cylindrical handle.

Rinse the plate with clear water after showering and wipe the metal with a dry cloth to keep the brushed finish even. If water seeps at the thread, it is almost always because the flat washer is missing or has aged: replace it rather than forcing the tightening.

What makes the difference

Receiving just the one part, and having to order the rest elsewhere.

Our answer
  • 1 stick-style shower head

A zamak body with a simple chrome plating: the finish flakes off and the metal pits underneath.

Our answer

A stainless steel body: immune to corrosion, it keeps its look despite constant contact with water.

+33 7 56 88 18 90 Write to us
Is it really chrome?
The photos show a brushed, satin metal rather than a mirror chrome. The supplier states stainless steel.
How many spray modes?
Just one: the water comes out of the window of nubs, with no selector.
Will my current holder fit?
If it takes a slim cylindrical handle, yes. Holders with a wide cradle designed for round-headed handsets may leave some play.
Is the hose included?
No, only the shower head is mentioned. It screws onto a standard 1/2″ hose.
Are taps easy to install yourself?

Most of our models are designed to be easy to fit yourself, with clear instructions and standard tools. For some of the more complex models, it may be advisable to call in a professional.

What should I do if my tap starts to leak?

If your tap starts to leak, first check whether the problem comes from the seals or the cartridge. These parts can wear over time and are easy to replace. If the problem persists, contact our customer service team for help or to claim under the guarantee, if applicable.
