A mixer you stand on the surface, not fix to the wall

A mixer you stand on the surface, not fix to the wall

This is not a wall-mounted tap: it is a single-hole mixer, a 180 mm tall cylinder on a 45 mm base, fixed through one hole. Install it on a bath deck, a tiled worktop or the edge of a large basin, as in the lifestyle photo.

The flat lever on top turns the water on and sets the temperature. The 115 mm spout ends in an aerator, which gives a steady, splash-free flow for filling a bath or a bucket.

The handset outlet

The handset outlet

Under the spout, a G1/2 threaded connection is ready for a shower hose. The button on top of the spout is the diverter: press it to switch the water from the spout to the handset. In the lifestyle photo, a round handset is attached and used for rinsing.

The supplier states, however, that this tap is sold without a shower head or hose, despite its name. You will therefore need a handset and a hose with a 1/2″ (15x21) nut, plus a holder if you want to store it on the wall. It is a good chance to choose the hose length that suits your bath.

Brushed stainless steel and fixing

Brushed stainless steel and fixing

The body is stated to be stainless steel in a light grey brushed finish. It copes well with bathroom humidity and keeps a satin look; wipe it along the grain with a microfibre cloth, with no abrasive products.

Under the base, a fixing rod passes through the surface and is tightened from below. You therefore need an existing hole, or to drill the bath deck: on an acrylic bath this is doable with a suitable hole saw; on ceramic, it is better to call a professional. Free UK delivery.

What makes the difference

Receiving just the one part, and having to order the rest elsewhere.

Our answer
  • 1 single-hole mixer with spout and diverter

A zamak body with a simple chrome plating: the finish flakes off and the metal pits underneath.

Our answer

A stainless steel body: immune to corrosion, it keeps its look despite constant contact with water.

Finding out at installation that the drilling does not match.

Our answer

The installation type is stated on the product page before you buy, here single-hole.
