Choosing well: Tap Attachment

An aerator or an adaptor is chosen by its thread. Sizes are standardised — 22 mm male or 24 mm female in most cases — and a universal model covers both.

Tap Attachment: standard threads

Between two attachments, the presence of a flow limiter and the quality of the seal decide.

Brass body
Standard threads, male and female covered
Flow limiter, to use less without noticing
Seal supplied, hand-fitted
Screws onto almost all common taps

On the tap side, Kitchen Sink Tap, Hot and Cold Water fits the same tap hole.

Screwing it on without leaks

Screw on by hand then tighten a quarter turn, seal properly in place. Over-tightening crushes the seal and causes exactly the leak you wanted to avoid.

A well-chosen accessory is recognisable by this: you no longer put it away. Check the dimensions against where it will live; that is what separates the object that gets used from the one that ends up at the back of a cupboard.

In the same spirit, White Basin Mixer Tap completes the installation.
