Suction shower head holder

The base is a round suction cup with a central dial. Press the holder against the wall, then turn the dial: the vacuum forms and the suction cup holds.

To move it, loosen the dial and peel it off. It is the holder for rental showers, guest bathrooms, or people who need a lower hold some days.

Put it on a perfectly smooth surface: glazed tile, glass, acrylic panel. A grout line, embossed tile or matt tile stops the suction cup holding its vacuum.

Between the suction cup and the cradle, a ribbed swan neck bends by hand. Aim the handset upwards to wash your hair, or downwards for a shower without wetting your head.

The diagram gives a total height of 16.5 cm, with a base about 7.4 cm in diameter and 5.6 cm thick. The cradle, open at the top, takes the handle of common handsets.

The swan neck keeps the shape you give it: no screw to retighten. For someone showering seated, fit it lower on the wall and curve the arm upwards: the handset stays within reach.

Chrome shines like classic taps, black goes with a matt mixer, and white blends into light tiles.

The body is made of ABS. From time to time, peel off the suction cup, rinse it in lukewarm water and put it back: a clean suction cup regains its grip.

Don't use the holder as a grab handle: it is designed to carry a handset, not a person's weight. If the suction cup loses its grip after a few weeks, clean the wall as well as the cup, then refit it and tighten the dial: often a mere film of soap is what stops the vacuum forming. Also avoid exposing it to a direct jet of very hot water.
