The wall between the utility room and the garden

The wall between the utility room and the garden

Many houses have their outdoor water supply next to the washing machine, in a larder, a garage or a utility room that opens onto the garden. This 304 stainless steel tap is made for that wall: its photos show it in turn above a flowering lawn and next to a washing machine.

Its two outlets come from the same body: a spout curved forwards, with its lever on top, and a downward-facing outlet, controlled by the lever on the central disc. You leave the machine connected and take garden water without disconnecting anything.

Dimensions, to the millimetre

Dimensions, to the millimetre

The tap measures 13.5 cm long and 11 cm high. Each of the two outlets projects 5.5 cm, the head on top is 3.8 cm. The G1/2 inlet thread is 2 cm long: it screws into a 15x21 wall outlet.

These are useful measurements when the tap has to fit between the wall and the machine, or under a window sill. Measure the available space before ordering: with the levers open, allow room for your hand and for the hose coming down from the lower outlet. On a narrow wall between two appliances, those few centimetres make the difference every day.

Connecting and maintaining

Connecting and maintaining

Both outlets end in ribbed nozzles. The flexible hose slips on and is tightened with a clip, to be bought separately. If your machine’s hose ends in a screw-on nut, you will need a fitting suited to its thread.

The flange engraved SUS304 covers the hole in the wall. Stainless steel is cleaned with soapy water, without steel wool. Before winter, turn off the supply, open both levers and disconnect the garden hose; the machine, sheltered, can stay connected. When the good weather returns, reopen the supply gently and check the thread.

What makes the difference

Draining the tap every autumn and still finding it split in spring.

Our answer

A valve that closes upstream of the wall: no water is left standing in the part exposed to frost.

A smooth nozzle that no hose connector will grip.

Our answer

A threaded nozzle to the standard used by off-the-shelf quick connectors.

A thin handwheel that's impossible to turn in wet gloves.

Our answer

A quarter-turn opening, on a wide control.

Paint that blisters in the first summer.

Our answer

A material made for outdoors: sun, rain and frost make no difference.

Receiving just the one part, and having to order the rest elsewhere.

Our answer
  • 1 304 stainless steel double-outlet tap
  • 1 SUS304 escutcheon

+33 7 56 88 18 90 Write to us
Do the two outlets work separately?
Yes: each outlet has its own lever; you open one, the other or both.
What thread do I need on the wall?
G1/2, i.e. a 15x21 female outlet. The inlet thread is 2 cm long.
Will my machine’s hose fit on it?
The outlets are ribbed nozzles for a flexible hose tightened with a clip. A hose ending in a nut needs a suitable fitting.
Is it designed for outdoor use?
Yes: it is presented for indoor as well as outdoor use. In winter, turn off the water upstream and empty it through its two outlets.
Are taps easy to install yourself?

Most of our models are designed to be easy to fit yourself, with clear instructions and standard tools. For some of the more complex models, it may be advisable to call in a professional.

What should I do if my tap starts to leak?

If your tap starts to leak, first check whether the problem comes from the seals or the cartridge. These parts can wear over time and are easy to replace. If the problem persists, contact our customer service team for help or to claim under the guarantee, if applicable.
