A handset with no head

A handset with no head

This handset doesn't widen at the top: it is a straight bar of square section, in one piece. The nozzles are grouped in a grid on the upper part of one face, and the water comes out at right angles to the bar.

The dimensions on the photos read 235 long by 30 x 30 section; the unit marked "cm" is clearly a typo, and the bar sits comfortably in one hand.

The chrome is polished like a mirror, with crisp edges. One photo also shows a black version, which isn't offered for sale: only chrome is available.

A concentrated spray

A concentrated spray

The nozzle area is narrow: the water comes out in a tight band rather than a broad rain. That is what the title calls high pressure, but how it feels depends mostly on your mains pressure, and we don't promise any figure.

The nozzles are square and raised, as the detail photo shows. If a jet veers off because of limescale, a swipe of the finger is enough to clear them.

No button or selector: a single spray, which you adjust at the mixer. This narrow spray is handy for rinsing a corner of the tray or the bottom of a screen.

For a bathroom with straight lines

For a bathroom with straight lines

Its geometric shape goes with a square column, a freestanding bath or tapware with sharp edges. One photo shows it resting on the sliding bracket of a chrome shower rail, above a wall-mounted mixer.

It screws onto the end of a standard hose using its threaded end, no tools needed. The supplier describes it on a wall bracket as well as in an insert fitting.

To keep the mirror finish, wipe it after use with a microfibre cloth: polished chrome quickly shows water marks. Avoid scouring sponges, which would scratch its flat faces.

What makes the difference

Calling a plumber to upgrade your shower.

Our answer

A standard 1/2″ thread: it screws on by hand in five minutes, with no need to shut off the water at the meter.

A harsh jet that hits one spot and leaves your back cold.

Our answer

A wide spray area: at the same flow rate, the water covers your shoulders.

Limescale-clogged holes that can no longer be cleared.

Our answer

Soft nubs that clean with a swipe of the finger.

A heavy head that's a chore to hold when rinsing a child.

Our answer

A weight you can hold at arm's length, even with one hand.

Receiving just the one part, and having to order the rest elsewhere.
