Gold wall-mounted tap with threaded nozzle

This is not a large double-outlet garden tap, but a simple single-outlet model, 10 cm long by 10 cm high. It suits places where space is tight: behind a washing machine, above a utility sink, on a balcony wall.

Its first photo shows it with a white hose fixed to the nozzle, the type that feeds a washing machine, next to another tap running freely. That is exactly its use: a discreet supplementary water point that can also take a hose.

The spout ends in a threaded nozzle with a knurled ring and a ribbed end. You fix a flexible hose or a supply hose to it, rather than filling a glass.

The curved lever is 7.5 cm: you lower it with one finger, even with wet hands. The manufacturer states a copper valve core. At the back, the inlet is a 2 cm male thread, to compare with your wall outlet before ordering; most often this is 1/2″, i.e. 15x21. For a washing machine, leave it open during washes and close it when going on holiday.

The model offered when ordering is the gold finish, which the manufacturer describes as champagne, in brushed metal. The photos also show bronze and rose copper shades, which are not available here.

A flange and a roll of PTFE tape appear in the tap’s photos. The flange is slid on first, then the PTFE tape is stretched over the thread in the direction of screwing. Stop tightening when the lever is on top and the nozzle points down. Before tightening, wipe the thread of the wall outlet: an old remnant of hemp stops the tape doing its job properly.
