Choosing well: Tap Attachment

An aerator or an adaptor is chosen by its thread. Sizes are standardised — 22 mm male or 24 mm female in most cases — and a universal model covers both.

Screwing it on without leaks

Screw on by hand then tighten a quarter turn, seal properly in place. Over-tightening crushes the seal and causes exactly the leak you wanted to avoid.
