Gold Shower System

Everything here is gold, right down to the hose. The hand shower is nothing modern: its curved handle and round head recall the bathroom handsets of old. The arm carrying the rain head describes a gentle curve, and the bar is round.

In a bathroom with cement tiles, bevelled white tiles or a freestanding bath, this column extends the style instead of contradicting it. In a contemporary room with dark walls, it becomes instead the eye-catching piece. The supplier states a brass body, the usual material for gold taps.

At the bottom of the column, the mixer body carries a pouring spout: the column therefore suits use above a bath, to fill the bath before moving on to the shower. The controls are placed either side of the body.

A little higher up, a small lever on the bar and the hand shower holder are visible in the close-up. The 20 cm round rain head, at the top, sprays vertically, while the retro hand shower comes off for rinsing or washing the children. The holder adjusts on the bar to suit everyone.

The diagram shows a bar adjustable from 70 to 120 cm, to be added to the height of the mixer on the wall. Measure between your water supplies and the ceiling, allowing space for the arm, before choosing the setting.

The mixer screws onto the wall supplies and the bar is fixed by a holder to be drilled: replacing an old wall-mounted bath-shower is doable for a DIYer, a new installation needs a plumber. To keep the gold shining, wipe after showering and clean with soapy water, no vinegar or abrasive product.
