Two hoses connected to a single tap

Two hoses connected to a single tap

In the garden, a wall outlet is rarely used for just one thing: the hose coiled on its reel, then a second hose for the vegetable patch, the pressure washer or the inflatable pool. This brass tap does the splitting at the wall: its body divides into two outlets, each ending in a quick connector.

The large black handle is on top. The small butterfly lever, on the left outlet, closes that outlet without touching the other: you can leave one hose connected and closed while using the other, without unplugging anything.

What the disassembled photos show

What the disassembled photos show

The tap measures 152 mm long by 115 mm high. The inlet is a 20 mm diameter male thread, 11 mm long, and the body is marked 1/2: it screws into a 15x21 female outlet, such as a wall plate elbow or garden elbow.

One of the photos shows the two quick connectors unscrewed from their outlets. Under each one, a black seal and a small white mesh. These parts can be removed for cleaning: if the flow drops over the seasons, this is often where sand and limescale build up.

Outdoors all year round: the right method

Outdoors all year round: the right method

This model is presented for year-round outdoor use, but it does not advertise automatic draining. Before the first frosts, close the indoor stop valve that feeds it, then open the handle and the butterfly lever to let the water left in the brass run out.

Disconnect both hoses for the winter: a full hose that freezes pushes against the connector. When fitting, wind PTFE tape clockwise onto the inlet thread, tighten by hand, then finish with a spanner without crushing the brass.

What makes the difference

Receiving just the one part, and having to order the rest elsewhere.

A zamak body with a simple chrome plating: the finish flakes off and the metal pits underneath.

Our answer

A brass body, the benchmark material for taps: it does not rust and withstands hot water without warping.

Finding out at installation that the drilling does not match.

Our answer

The installation type is stated on the product page before you buy, here wall-mounted.

Is it really frost-proof?
It is sold for outdoor use all year round, but nothing drains it for you: turn off the water upstream before frosts, open both outlets to drain it and disconnect the hoses.
What thread do I need on the wall?
A 1/2″ female outlet, i.e. 15x21: the tap's inlet is a 20 mm male thread, marked 1/2 on the body.
Will my hose connect directly?
Yes, if it ends in a clip-on fitting, the usual garden hose format: the outlets already have their quick connectors.
Can I use just one outlet?
Yes: close the small butterfly valve on the left outlet and use the other with the large handle.
Are taps easy to install yourself?

Most of our models are designed to be easy to fit yourself, with clear instructions and standard tools. For some of the more complex models, it may be advisable to call in a professional.

What should I do if my tap starts to leak?

If your tap starts to leak, first check whether the problem comes from the seals or the cartridge. These parts can wear over time and are easy to replace. If the problem persists, contact our customer service team for help or to claim under the guarantee, if applicable.
