The lever diverter, at the foot of the rail

The lever diverter, at the foot of the rail

Here, the choice between rain and handset is made with a small cylindrical lever sticking out of the diverter body. You push it to one side or the other, without having to pinch a knob: an easy movement even with hands full of soap or for a child.

The supplier details what lies behind it: a ceramic disc core, rated for 70,000 operations, and a diverter body presented as thick and lead-free, weighed at 416 g in one of its photos. These are its statements; they describe a part designed to last rather than a simple plastic tee.

Connect to what you have

Connect to what you have

This column has no mixer: it connects to the one already on the wall, in place of the hose of an old shower rail. The water enters at the bottom of the diverter, then goes up to the rain shower or off to the round handset.

The drawing gives a 1,014 mm rail height and a 454 mm projection for the swan-neck arm. The 20 cm rain therefore falls well away from the wall. The handset holder slides over a 650 mm range. Before ordering, add the height of your mixer to that of the rail and compare it with your ceiling.

What the package photo shows

What the package photo shows

The supplier insists on one point: all the fitting hardware is supplied. In the flat-lay photo, you can see the rail, the curved arm, the diverter, the handset, the round rain shower, two hoses, the sliding holder, a fixing plate, plugs, screws and seals, an instruction sheet and a pair of gloves.

Installation requires drilling for the rail brackets, then screwing the diverter onto the mixer outlet. The connector is not specified: compare with your outlet, 1/2″ (15x21) being the most widespread size. For upkeep, a soft cloth on the chrome and a finger over the rain shower's nozzles are enough.

What makes the difference

Changing your shower means removing the mixer and opening up the wall again.

Drilling new holes to adjust the height.

Our answer

An adjustable rail that reuses the existing fixings.
