17 cm to clear the wall

17 cm to clear the wall

Most wall taps are about ten centimetres long: the water falls against the wall and splashes it. This one projects 17 cm. Its first photo shows it above a stone trough, the jet right in the middle of the basin, away from the render.

It is the tap for garden fountains, rinsing basins and outdoor sinks set away from the wall. It has only one outlet: you choose this model for its reach and its looks, not to multiply connections. Its length also makes it a good tap above a vegetable washing basin.

Chiselled ring and wing lever

Chiselled ring and wing lever

Under the lever, a ring 2.5 cm high carries a raised scroll pattern. Its aged brass tone, darker in the recesses, recalls the taps of old farmyards. The tube is smooth, which sets off the ring.

The wing lever is 4.5 cm and opens in one movement: the manufacturer speaks of a quick-opening handle. The nozzle, at the end of the spout, is a knurled connector for a garden hose, as the close-up shows. This nozzle lets you connect a hose for watering, then remove it to get a free spout back.

Installation and care

Installation and care

The inlet is a male thread at the end of the tube. Compare it with your wall outlet before ordering; outdoors, most are 1/2″, i.e. 15x21. Because the spout is long, tighten the tap until the lever is exactly on top: a crooked tap is more noticeable at 17 cm.

For winter, the supply is shut off in the house and the lever is left open to drain the tube. The patina is cleaned with clean water and a soft cloth, with no acidic product. A hose disconnected for winter also relieves the long spout.

What makes the difference

Draining the tap every autumn and still finding it split in spring.

Our answer

A valve that closes upstream of the wall: no water is left standing in the part exposed to frost.

A smooth nozzle that no hose connector will grip.

Our answer

A threaded nozzle to the standard used by off-the-shelf quick connectors.

A thin handwheel that's impossible to turn in wet gloves.

Our answer

A quarter-turn opening, on a wide control.

Paint that blisters in the first summer.

Our answer

A material made for outdoors: sun, rain and frost make no difference.

Receiving just the one part, and having to order the rest elsewhere.

+33 7 56 88 18 90 Write to us
Is the water drinkable?
No: the manufacturer states it is not intended for drinking water.
Can a hose be connected to it?
Yes: the spout ends in a connector nozzle for a garden hose.
How many outlets are there?
Just one, at the end of the 17 cm spout. For two hoses, choose a double-outlet model.
How do I preserve the aged brass shade?
Clean water and a soft cloth; avoid neat vinegar and scouring creams, which lighten the patina.
Are taps easy to install yourself?

Most of our models are designed to be easy to fit yourself, with clear instructions and standard tools. For some of the more complex models, it may be advisable to call in a professional.

What should I do if my tap starts to leak?

If your tap starts to leak, first check whether the problem comes from the seals or the cartridge. These parts can wear over time and are easy to replace. If the problem persists, contact our customer service team for help or to claim under the guarantee, if applicable.
