The two inch sizes in the title, explained

The two inch sizes in the title, explained

The 1/2″ is the inlet: a 2 cm male thread that screws into the 15x21 female outlet in your wall, the most widespread in France. The 3/4″ concerns the two outlets, in 20x27, onto which 2.5 cm quick connectors are screwed.

This step from the small to the large diameter has a practical purpose: the quick connectors unscrew, and the 3/4″ outlet then takes a 20x27 female accessory directly, for example a watering timer or an adapter. The nozzle of each connector measures 1.6 cm, the size of clip-on hose ends.

Two yellow levers

Two yellow levers

A long yellow handle on top, a small yellow lever on the left outlet. As on any ball valve, the position can be read at a glance: lever in line with the outlet, the water flows; lever across it, it is closed.

The small lever shuts off one outlet on its own, so you can leave a hose connected and idle while the other one waters or fills the washing bucket. Both levers are the same bright colour as the washing and watering visuals: you can spot them from the far end of a garden, even at dusk. When closed, the lever doesn't stick out towards the path, so you won't catch it with the mower or a wheelbarrow.

Uses beyond the garden

Uses beyond the garden

The visuals show it on a lawn, in front of a car being washed and above a washing machine: two outlets are just as useful in a garage or outbuilding. It measures 15 cm long and 11 cm high.

Before the frosts, close the stop valve that feeds it, then flip both levers to the open position so the water drains out. Remove the hoses and store them under cover: they last longer, and the quick connectors aren't left under tension. In spring, screw the hoses back on, open the supply slowly and check that the thread isn't dripping before the new season gets under way.

What makes the difference

Draining the tap every autumn and still finding it split in spring.

Our answer

A valve that closes upstream of the wall: no water is left standing in the part exposed to frost.

A smooth nozzle that no hose connector will grip.

Our answer

A threaded nozzle to the standard used by off-the-shelf quick connectors.

A thin handwheel that's impossible to turn in wet gloves.

Our answer

A quarter-turn opening, on a wide control.

Paint that blisters in the first summer.

Our answer

A material made for outdoors: sun, rain and frost make no difference.

Receiving just the one part, and having to order the rest elsewhere.

Our answer
  • 1 double-outlet tap
  • 2 quick connectors screwed onto the outlets

Can you drink the water from this tap?
No: the manufacturer states it is not intended for drinking water.
Are the quick connectors removable?
Yes: they screw onto the 3/4″ (20x27) outlets, which can then take a female fitting of that size.
My wall outlet is 3/4″ – will it work?
Not without a reducer: the inlet is 1/2″ (15x21). A 20x27 to 15x21 reducer makes the connection.
How can I tell if it's open?
Lever in line with the outlet means open; lever across it means closed.
Are taps easy to install yourself?

Most of our models are designed to be easy to fit yourself, with clear instructions and standard tools. For some of the more complex models, it may be advisable to call in a professional.

What should I do if my tap starts to leak?

If your tap starts to leak, first check whether the problem comes from the seals or the cartridge. These parts can wear over time and are easy to replace. If the problem persists, contact our customer service team for help or to claim under the guarantee, if applicable.
