Black double-outlet garden tap, PTFE tape included

PTFE tape is often what’s missing on installation day. Here there are two rolls, photographed with the tap, and two black seals along with two adapters.

The outlets are threaded: the adapters screw onto them, seal in place, and turn each one into a quick-connect fitting for a clip-on nozzle. Without an adapter, a threaded outlet can also take an accessory with a nut of the right diameter directly. You choose according to the equipment you already have in the garden. The seals go at the bottom of each adapter before screwing in: they are what makes it watertight, not tightening with a spanner.

One of the visuals opens up the body and shows a brass ball fully open: the water passes without narrowing, which gives a good flow at the end of the hose. The manufacturer also mentions a double valve core, one per outlet.

Both controls turn: the long lever on top and the butterfly handle on the left outlet. The visuals cite four uses: the sprinkler timer, the washing machine, watering and car washing: one outlet can stay dedicated to the timer. Both nozzles accept the clip-on fittings of common garden hoses.

The tap measures 14.2 cm long by 11 cm high. The threaded inlet is 2 cm and is marked 1/2, i.e. a 15x21 wall outlet. The outlets are 2.5 cm, the connector nozzles 1.6 cm.

The body is zinc alloy, presented by the manufacturer as thickened. That does not mean leaving it full of water in winter: close the supply inside, open both controls until nothing more runs out and disconnect the hoses. The adapters can be unscrewed and stored dry until spring.
