Rain or waterfall

Rain or waterfall

The first two photos show the same head with its two sprays. In rain mode, the water comes out of the nozzle grille and falls in a steady curtain. In waterfall mode, it escapes through a slot at the front and forms a thick sheet.

The waterfall feels good on the neck and shoulders; rain suits a full shower.

Switching from one to the other depends on the tapware that feeds the head: the photos show no selector on the head itself. In the waterfall photo, the water falls in a thick ribbon in front of the head, away from the wall plate.

A soft shape on a straight arm

A soft shape on a straight arm

The head is a rectangle with rounded corners, slightly domed, with a thin edge. It is carried by a straight wall arm that starts from a square wall plate.

The photos show three looks: chrome with a light face, brushed metal and matt black. The chrome option is the shiniest version, the metal a satin stainless tone.

The body is stated as brass, heavier and more durable than chrome-plated plastic. Matt black sets off the clear sheet of water, as the last photo shows, while the white and chrome version brightens a dark shower. The options offered are chrome, metal and black.

Fitting and connection

Fitting and connection

The arm is fixed to the wall above the shower, on a water supply coming out of the partition. This is the standard installation for a concealed shower, with a wall-mounted mixer or thermostatic valve.

To get both sprays, the head generally needs two supplies controlled by a diverter: have your plumber check this before choosing the mixer.

The grille and the slot should be rinsed after the shower; a microfibre cloth lightly soaked in diluted vinegar removes limescale marks. Think about the fitting height: the head should be above the tallest user.

What makes the difference

A zamak body with a simple chrome plating: the finish flakes off and the metal pits underneath.

Our answer

A brass body, the benchmark material for taps: it does not rust and withstands hot water without warping.

Finding out at installation that the drilling does not match.

Our answer

The installation type is stated on the product page before you buy, here wall-mounted.
