High-Pressure Rain Shower Head

In an open shower, with no door or tray, the fittings stay in view. This black, smooth cylindrical shower head is discreet there: 195 mm long by 28 mm in diameter, according to the manufacturer's diagram.

The wall photo shows it standing upright in a round black holder, with a black hose hanging below. The whole forms a slim line on the wall, with no protruding head.

The spray comes from a single area, on the front of the tube: you aim it with a flick of the wrist. This format also suits a small shower room, where every centimetre saved on the wall counts.

The close-ups show a rectangular grey strip, slightly domed to follow the curve of the cylinder, bristling with regular nubs.

These soft-looking nubs are easy to clean: a swipe of the finger under the water is enough to loosen deposits before they harden. The grey shows up well against the black, which helps you spot a blocked nozzle.

The rest of the tube is an even matt black, with no visible screws or joints. Under this finish, the supplier states a stainless steel tube, with no visible plastic on the body.

The bottom of the tube has a grey thread, marked G1/2: the 1/2″ thread of shower hoses (15x21). Screw it by hand onto the hose nut, flat washer in place.

Its 28 mm diameter suits round-ring holders, like the one in the photo, rather than the large cradles made for round-headed handsets.

Neither holder nor hose is included. To keep an all-black set, plan on a black hose: a chrome hose would break the line. After showering, a wipe over the matt black is enough to remove the drops before they dry into white marks.
